AGILE-CORE™ centralizes data and energy management by delivering safe, low-voltage DC power over copper and high-speed data via fiber from a HEADEND to distributed Edge IDFs using a hub-and-spoke architecture.
This architecture reduces both capital and operational costs by simplifying infrastructure, minimizing AC-DC conversion losses, and supporting a wide range of IT and OT devices including wireless access points, cameras, lighting, sensors, motorized shades, USB outlets, and building controls.

Fault Managed Power (FMP)

Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC)

Electricity is transmitted using direct current at relatively low voltage, typically below 60V and treated as class 2. LVDC offers increased efficiency and safety.

AGILE-CORE™ leverages FMP, PoE, X-PoE® and LVDC to create a building infrastructure system that offers a safe, efficient, and scalable backbone with zero standby losses, simplified wiring, and accelerated installation. This exceptional system allows for information technology systems, operational technology systems, or both IT and OT delivering a next-generation digital building system.

At the core of the system is the HEADEND, which may reside in a main electrical room or MDF, and serves as the central conversion and distribution point for AC or DC input power. It delivers power and data to remote BITS Edge IDFs using Fault Managed Power (FMP) over thin-gauge copper wiring and data over single mode fiber.

The HEADEND delivers power to remote BITS Edge IDFs using Fault Managed Power (FMP) over thin-gauge copper wiring. This fault-managed system instantly disconnects power in the event of a fault—such as accidental contact—ensuring high safety standards and reducing the risk of fire or damage. Because of its safe classification, FMP can be installed without metal conduit and run alongside communication lines, enabling flexible routing and lowering installation complexity. 

Power and data are combined in a hybrid copper-fiber backbone cable, capable of extending up to 2000 feet from the HEADEND to Edge locations.

Within the Edge IDFs, FMP is converted to low-voltage DC and seamlessly integrated with the PoE, LVDC and X-PoE® lighting.
